In-Dash DVD Player,
by Mart Ross Wicker, 2010-08-24
This is a great product and a good addition to any vehicle, it has all the bells and whistles including the safety feature to ensure that the screen will not operate unless the park break is pushed, which is easily bypassed by hooking the ground for the parking brake switch of the unit to the common ground of the wiring harness of the DVD Player, NOT RECOMMENDED as it is illegal to watch a DVD while driving, but none the less I had to do that to ensure I could use the touch screen to control the CD/DVD player to listen to music.
The remote is very handle with one small downfall that it is very large and bulky, but overall this product is a great buy and has a very simple installation from start to finish taking less than 30 minutes in my S10 and I suspect it to be about the same time to complete installation in similar vehicles!!!
GREAT PRODUCT!!!!
Poor System,
by Edward K. Lo, 2010-08-09
I bought this to replace the stock system in my car. I spend $130 to have a professional installer to setup the system. The sound was so poor that I can't stand for a minute. Now I have to paid the same installer to remove it and send it back.
First of all, the material is very cheap. You can tell by just holding in you hand and you can feel the built was not solid. There are slit on the screen that you can see the light creep out when it is dark inside. It is cheap, OK. I can accept the fact.
However, the navigating the system is not making sense, very poor design. Tunning the radio is painstaking. OK. I can take that a well.
The sound is the most disappointed. You seems like you are listening to music from a mono speaker. The sound is muddy, the seperating of music from each speaker is not notable. It sound like a music coming from one speaker. Compare to my cheap Stock system, it is night and day.
Do not buy this system, the cheap price does not do justice. Why do you want something that don't sound good in the first place. Keep whatever you already have, whatever you have will sound better than this system. Or buy other system. Don't let the cheap price fool you.
Boss audio is no good, trust me, I worked for them,
by R. Alamillo, 2010-08-05
I use to work for Boss Audio a few years ago. They're in Oxnard, Ca. Their parent company "Melody (something)" had 3 audio companies, Planet audio, sound storm labs, and Boss audio. All three of them bought from the same supplier in China who sold the same products with different casings. Planet Audio prints that they're made in USA but the only thing we did was screw in the heat sink (cover). These guys suck, I was a repair tech for planet audio and these parts were cheap. The boss is a jerk and all he cares about is making cash.... don't trust this company. If you heard how they spoke about their RMA's you'd feel the same way.
Stay Away,
by Ossie, 2010-08-05
This is possible the worst radio I've ever purchased/owned period. Picture quility and functionality are extremely limited. The screen saver while listening to music is just a blank BOSS logo wo the option for any other display. The sound is weak and low quality. There was an extremely loud noise coming from the receiver whenever it powered up, like the motor that moved the screen in and out of the receviver was working hard, but the screen was not moving at all. This would last for about 15mins... Don't waste your money. Save up and buy a better receiver. and it is not compatible with any I products... It will play an MP3 player through the aux input and the USB plug never worked.
Bday Present,
by Glo, 2010-07-13
I bought this for my fiancee as a birthday present and he looooves it! I didn't find a better price anywhere and I made sure to look EVERYWHERE before I purchased it. It arrived safe and just as I expected. Installed it the next day and works great.
